Doris Gail Lunsford went home to her Lord and Savior on April 22, 2022.

She was the fifth child born to Herman and Velva Lunsford on April 11, 1949 in Fresno.

She attended school in McKinleyville from elementary to high school and then to College of the Redwoods. She was a member of New Hope Church of God.

She loved playing Bingo, counting Egrets (“Praise the Lord” birds) by the road on the way to Eureka, playing the accordion, listening to music, singing, camping and fishing, coloring, saying “Bubba Don’t!”, watching Wagon Train and Family Feud, playing games, visiting with and talking to her numerous friends and family.

She faced multiple health adversities with amazing fortitude.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Frances Elizabeth Darling.

She is survived by her daughter Maria Lanette Gomes, her grandson, Justin Smith, as well as her brothers; Herman & Juanita Lunsford, Kenneth & Marilyn Lunsford, Douglas Lunsford, Jonathan & Patty Lunsford, Carson & Carol Lunsford, Bradley Lunsford plus her sisters; Katherine Fulton, Sharon Cain, Linda Trimm, Irene & Jim Hopkins along with numerous nieces and nephews with many bonus kids and grandkids.

Memorial Services to be held at New Hope Church of God, 2022 Sutter Rd. McKinleyville on Saturday April 30, 2022 at 1 p.m. Potluck to follow.
