Fortuna Police Department release:

On Sunday, July 24, 2022 at approximately 11:00 am, Fortuna Police responded to the 1800 block of Penn Avenue in Fortuna in attempt to serve three outstanding arrest warrants on Tyler Knauff, a subject serving time on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS).

Subjects at the residence where Tyler Knauff was believed to be denied knowing his whereabouts. Officers believed Tyler Knauff to be hiding in the attic of the residence in attempts to avoid arrest. Announcements were made by officers and K9 Blitz with no response. K9 Blitz located Tyler Knauff hiding in the attic, where he had concealed himself under insulation and was not visible to officers.

Once located by K9 Blitz, Tyler Knauff surrendered to officers.

Officers arrested 42 year old, Tyler Knauff for the outstanding arrest warrants and for the fresh charge of 148(a)(1) PC, resisting, delaying or obstructing.

Tyler Knauff was transported and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility.
