Eric Lynn Kirk, born March 13, 1970, a lifelong Humboldt County resident, passed away on February 18, 2025, at the age of 54. Thanks to Gobles Family Mortuary for taking care of the arrangements needed.
Eric spent most of his career in the restaurant business, as a cook for many of restaurants in the Humboldt County area. He worked hard long hours and loved his job cooking for banquets at the Red Lion Inn in Eureka. Known for his hard work, dedication and love for good food, he was a natural in the kitchen, always cooking for his loved ones and sharing meals that brought people together. Eric also had a green thumb and found joy in his garden, creating beauty in his surroundings. He always found positivity in the darkest times and was a real glass-half-full type of man. He always had a bit of a lucky side to him. He won $30,000 from a scratcher ticket from the lottery and it really was luck. Lol.
Eric leaves behind his mom, Donna Kirk; his two brothers, Ethan and Elijah; his sister, Eileen; his son, Nathan; and his three nieces and two nephews whom he adored. His humor and creativity left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Eric will be remembered for his generous heart, his love of family, and the simple joys he found in cooking and nature. He will be deeply missed but forever held in the hearts of those who loved him.
We will be planning a small celebration of life for Eric with close family and friends date unknown.
