Dave Cameron was a loving husband, amazing father/step-father, and very proud “Papa.” He was well respected throughout the construction community and the hardest worker you could have met throughout his life.

David Wayne Cameron, 60, of Eureka, passed away on the evening of May 27 after succumbing to complications of a long battle with sarcoidosis. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Sandy Cameron, daughter Shalise Cameron-Buchanan, step-sons Cory (Haley) Pinochi, Casey (Karen) Pinochi, parents – Gary and Beverly Cameron, sisters – Liz (Danny) Brewer, Pauline Hogan, brother – Tim (Mia) Cameron, preceded in death by his mother Shirley Caudel.

Dave leaves behind his beautiful grandchildren: Kade, Lucca, and Colt Pinochi, Kamryn and Corrado Pinochi, Jace Buchanan (little sidekick/partner in crime) along with the newest addition of Jaces’ little brother Ruxton. Nieces and nephews; Daniel (Kahea) Brewer, Justin (Ashley) Brewer, Brittany (Richard) Hubbell and Lawrence Hogan.

Dave was extremely proud of the business that he started, DC Insulation, and worked hard to make it successful. He later sold due to his declining health. He was still very involved with the business and with the current owners.

Special thanks to his best friends, Danny “DJ” and Dayna Bell for their support throughout the years, and Norm Weeks who was a friend of 30+ years. We would also like to acknowledge the love of his friends: Al Walters, Chris Arnold, Greg Holst, Juan Velazquez, and so many more we don’t have room to mention.

Dave was apprehensive but still anticipating having his transplant with the hopes of being healthy enough to play with his grandchildren and go bowling again. He also would’ve loved to get back on his Harley and go riding with his best buddy Norm Weeks. Ultimately the good Lord had other plans. The UCSF transplant team used to refer to Dave as “The Jokester” due to him always teasing and trying to keep things light.

Big thanks to Grant Giovannetti and Nate Ludwig for being amazing bosses and understanding in and working with his health issues.
