Victor Laine DeCarli, beloved son and father, passed away on May 18, 2025. Victor’s playful spirit and loving nature will be missed by his family and friends.
Victor was born on December 31, 1961 in Eureka to Bonnie and Ernest DeCarli. Victor graduated from Eureka High School and attended College of the Redwoods. After high school, Victor worked for Hilfiker Pipe Company and later worked as a carpenter and with his father repairing electric tools.
Victor loved spending time at the family cabin in Maple Creek. He expressed his affection by helping out his friends and family through hard work: chopping and stacking firewood, mowing lawns and fixing cars. He loved his mom’s cooking. Every holiday he helped his mom make her famous apple pies. Victor loved to have a good time and was in touch with his youthful nature. He found great joy in attending the family campouts and gatherings with his children, mom and cousins.
Victor was predeceased by his brother, Gary DeCarli, his grandparents George and Martha Derryberry and Victor and Elaine DeCarli, his aunt Jeannie Derryberry Haberman his aunt and uncle Willa Mae and Bob Caudle, and his uncle Travis Derryberry. He is survived by his mother and father, Bonnie and Ernest, children, Kayla and Devin, uncle Jerry Derryberry, and all of his wonderful cousins. Victor also leaves behind his girlfriend, Ashley, and dear friends, Shawn and Derlyn. Victor’s parents and children would like to give a huge thank you to our family Tamarah and Scott Wannamaker for their help with arrangements and supporting us while Victor was in the hospital.
A graveside funeral will be held on June 14 at 2:30 p.m. at Oceanview Cemetery directly followed by a memorial at Bonnie and Ernie’s house.
