Press release from the Eureka Police Department:

Over the past several days, personnel from the Eureka Police Department Patrol Division developed information regarding the whereabouts of Jonathan Marcks, who was wanted in connection with an attempted homicide in Arcata.

Working in collaboration with the Humboldt County Drug Task Force and the Eureka Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit (CIU), investigators confirmed Marcks was staying at a motel in the 2100 block of Broadway.

On August 4, 2026, at approximately 6:47 p.m., Eureka Police Department Patrol officers and a CIU detective conducted a coordinated enforcement operation resulting in the successful apprehension of Marcks without incident.

Marcks was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on the Ramey Warrant for attempted murder and an additional felony warrant.
