The Humboldt County Coroner’s Office has completed the death investigation into the death of 77-year-old retired physician James Jaworski.

Mr. Jaworski was reported missing by his wife on the morning of July 8, 2026. Following an extensive search effort, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Special Services Division and Humboldt County Search and Rescue (SAR) Team located Mr. Jaworski approximately one day later in a brush-covered area outside near his residence.

The autopsy findings determined the cause of death to be blunt force trauma, with underlying medical conditions identified as contributing factors. The manner of death has been determined to be accidental.

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office extends its deepest condolences to Mr. Jaworski’s family, friends, and loved ones as they continue to grieve this loss.
