The business may, someday, be here, at 40 South G Street.

It’ll be a little while longer before Arcata learns if it’s getting a new contrast therapy/sauna manufacturing business.
Entrepreneur Zachary Vondrak asked the Arcata Planning Commission for a little more time to research and compile information on the “gasification” wood-fired stove technology he wants to use to heat his saunas. The commission agreed, deciding they’d talk about it again on August 11.
At the last meeting two weeks ago, the commissioners were intrigued but skeptical of his claim that the stoves were superior to normal wood-burning ones, giving themselves and him some time to do some research on how much particulate matter they emit.
Vondrak declined to share with the Outpost what kind of research he was doing, but said he’d be open to do so later. He told us several weeks ago he’d consider establishing his business elsewhere if he couldn’t burn wood.
