Michael Roy Felthauser was born on February 2, 1949, in Eureka, California, to Leroy and Roberta Felthauser. He left this world unexpectedly on June 13, 2026, and will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved him.

Mike grew up in Eureka, where he spent his childhood and teenage years enjoying the outdoors: logging, fishing, and hunting. He attended local schools and graduated from Eureka High School in 1968. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. 

After returning from military service, Mike settled in Eureka and spent much of his younger years racing stock cars, hunting, and fishing. In 1976, he welcomed his only child, his son Steven. Mike met the love of his life, Ida Faye, and the two married in 1991. Together, they spent nearly 35 years making memories at their home in Eureka. 

Mike worked for 30 years as a driver for Bettendorf Trucking before retiring. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing Mike would describe him as deeply respected, loyal, honest, and hardworking.

Mike is survived by his wife, Ida; his son, Steven Felthauser, and daughter-in-law, Amy; his granddaughters, Lindsay and Alyssa Felthauser; his stepson, Jason Lindholm and wife Shannon, and their children; his grandson, Dalton; as well as many other extended family members.

Mike was preceded in death by, and is now reunited with, his parents, Leroy and Roberta Felthauser; his sisters, Debbie Jack and Carrie McCracken; and numerous other extended family members.

Mike was the kind of man you respected. He always had my back. He was true to me and helped me with our grandson, Dalton, who we raised together for 17 years. He will be missed by all who knew him, and especially by me. I love you, Mike—we had a good run!
