Carol (Kara) Sue Rossi of Eureka passed peacefully at home on April 28, 2026.

Born to Kenneth and Mary Christiansen on January 13, 1963, in Eureka. She graduated from Norco High School in Norco, California in June of 1981. She was active in concert, jazz and marching bands and had the honor of marching in the Rose Parade.

After finishing school, she married James Rossi, welcoming two daughters, and began her career with Social Security Administration. Her family moved often for her husband’s work, including three memorable years living in Iwakuni, Japan, ultimately returning to Eureka, where she devoted her time volunteering to the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 636 where she was a bartender and Sergeant at Arm(s), and supported special events, karaoke nights, fundraisers and community dinners.

Carol stood by her friends with fierce loyalty and gave the same steadfast support to the Lodge. But her greatest joy was her granddaughter Raven.

She is survived by her parents Kenneth & Mary Christiansen, sister Teresa Christiansen all of Eureka, sister Wendy and her husband Phil Cervantes of Corona, ex-husband James Rossi, daughter Alicia Rossi of New Orleans, daughter Christin Rossi and granddaughter Raven Bell both of Eureka.

A Celebration of Life will be held July 11th, 2026, 12 p.m. to 3 p.m at the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 636 — 4328 Campton Road, Eureka, CA.

In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to Mooseheart Charities or Hospice of Humboldt in Carol’s Memory.

Arrangements were handled by Sanders Funeral Home in Eureka.
