On September 24, 2026, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Problem Oriented Policing (POP) Team and HCSO deputies conducted a probation compliance search at the residence of Brittany Bryan, 41, of McKinleyville, near the 1900 block of Elm Way. The search stemmed from neighborhood complaints and information received by the POP Team regarding suspected narcotics sales at the residence.
During the search, deputies located Carter Daniels, who had active felony warrants for his arrest, sleeping in a bedroom. Deputies subsequently located approximately 42 grams of suspected methamphetamine, approximately 17 grams of fentanyl, along with packaging materials and drug paraphernalia.
Following the investigation, Bryan was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on the following charges:
- HS 11366 – Maintaining a place for the purpose of unlawfully selling, giving away, or using controlled substances
- HS 11378 – Possession of a controlled substance for sale
- PC 1203.2 – Probation violation
Daniels was also booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on the following charges:
- Outstanding felony warrant
- HS 11378 – Possession of a controlled substance for sale
- HS 11377 – Possession of a controlled substance
- PC 3455 – Post-Release Community Supervision (PRCS) revocation
