Successful Dog Rescue

On August 29, 2026, Arcata Fire District personnel responded to the north end of McKinleyville Avenue after a golden retriever dug into a hole and became pinned beneath a brick planter box wall.

Crews carefully removed soil and debris to reach the dog and successfully free it. We are happy to report that the rescue was successful!
