William “Greg” Wilmot, age 74 of Fortuna, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2026. Born in Eugene to Orval and Gertrude Wilmot, Greg lived a life defined by his dedication to his country, his strong work ethic, and his deep love for his family.

Greg was a proud United States Marine who served honorably with the Corps. Stationed in Okinawa, he built a brotherhood and maintained many lifelong friendships that remained dear to him throughout his years. Following his active service, he continued his commitment to service by serving in the National Guard for four years. Professionally, Greg dedicated 15 years of hard work to Eureka Ready Mix before retiring 11 years ago.

In his retirement, Greg found happiness in the quiet rhythms of home and handiwork. He could frequently be found tending to his backyard garden, cultivating a thriving collection of roses alongside a variety of vegetables and fruits. A natural tinkerer, he always had an active project in his garage, but his greatest joy came from spending time surrounded by his children and grandchildren.

Greg is survived by his beloved wife, Tanya Wilmot; his children, Greg Allen Wilmot and his wife Chasidy, and their children Riley and Grace; Jamie Wilmot and his wife Stacy, and their children Noah and Garret; Gina Tillet and her husband Robert, and her children Sara, Morgan, and Meaghan; and Brittany Brinson and her husband Troy, and their children Karter and Winter. He is also survived by his stepsons, Jefferson Brink and his wife Joal, and their children Lynnea, Marissa, Allie, and Hunner; and Robert Jackson and his children Nathan, Ryan, and Elysia; as well as his cherished great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Orval and Gertrude and his step-son, Justin Brink with whom he had a special bond.

A service to celebrate Greg’s life will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at the Wilmot residence, located at 1745 Rohnerville Rd, Fortuna, CA 95540.
