Crews have now taken down the second segment of the old Eel River Bridge along U.S. 101 near Rio Dell. We captured it in a timelapse video so you can see hours of work in just under a minute.
What remains of the bridge is expected to be removed by the end of September followed by removal of the temporary rock berm by mid-October. Work will continue outside the river channel through the winter, and crews are expected to begin installing piles for the new bridge next summer.
