Tammie Lynn (Canfield) Harris of Arcata passed away suddenly at the young age of 58 on August 24, 2026. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished Nana, sister and friend. Tammie will be remembered for her love of Jesus, bingo and all things outdoors.

Tammie was born in Arcata to Robert and Linda Canfield on December 22, 1967. She grew up in Humboldt County and was the second of four children. She began her journey into motherhood at a young age, a role that would become one of the greatest and most meaningful parts of her life.

When her son was just three months old, Tammie met the love of her life, James. From that moment, they began building a life and family together. Their love grew through the years, and they shared 43 years side by side. Together, they raised five children and created a home filled with love, family and countless memories.

Above all, Tammie treasured her family. Becoming a Nana brought her immeasurable joy, and she loved each of her 14 grandchildren deeply. Whether spending time outdoors, enjoying a game of bingo, or simply being surrounded by the people she loved, Tammie found happiness in the moments shared with family and friends.

Her faith in Jesus was an important part of who she was and remained a source of strength throughout her life. Tammie’s love, faith, laughter and devotion to her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Tammie was preceded in death by her parents, Robert “Bob” Canfield and Linda Waterman; stepdad Loren “Joe” Waterman; grandparents Dorthy and Mat “Bud” Dudal; brother Robert “Robbie” Canfield; sisters Tracy Sloan and Dorina Canfield; brothers-in-law Roger Sloan and Jade Buchholz; mother-in-law Beverly Tompkins; aunt Patricia “Patty” Jones; uncle Merle Jones; second cousin Julieza Payton; and good friends Danielle Uber and Sheri Batemon.

Tammie is survived by her husband, James Harris; children Jeremy (Holly) Canfield, Vanessa (Shane) Souza, Steven (Nicole) Harris, Tiffany (Allan) Beugler, and Kelsey (Andrew) Lister; grandchildren Tianna, Ella, and Cade Canfield; Hailey, Hayden, Hazlee, and Harlyn Souza; Landen and Ava Harris; Hannah, Bryson, and Colby Beugler; and Ryder and Hazel Lister; aunts Teresa Wiliams, Janet Jones, and Carleen Sutherland; uncle James Jones; cousins Julie Payton, Brandee Jones, Heather Edwards, Shannon Jones, Angela Robinson, David Foust, Melissa Cummins, Christina Jones, Byron, Curtis, and Daniel Sutherland; nieces and nephews Christopher (Andrea) Canfield, Brandon Buchholz, Ashley (Ryan) Schoenberner, Nathan, and Mandi Sloan; great-nieces and great-nephews Brooke, Riley, and Milo Canfield, Leah Schoenberner, Colliyn, and Emily Retz; and good friends Joann McDaniels and William “Bill” Pimentel.

A celebration of life honoring Tammie will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 3 p.m. at The Wharfinger Building, 1 Marina Way, Eureka.

Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate Tammie’s life, share memories, and honor the loving person she was. Though she left us far too soon, the love she gave and the memories she created will remain in our hearts forever.
