… or, as an episode of Seinfeld!

INT. MONK’S CAFE - DAY
Jerry, Elaine, George, and Kramer are sitting at their usual booth, sipping on coffee.
Jerry: So, what’s new with everyone?
Elaine: Well, I heard that the Eureka Police Department was awarded a grant for alcohol policing.
George: (excitedly) Alcohol policing? That sounds like a dangerous job. I wouldn’t want to mess with people who have been drinking.
Jerry: (sarcastically) Oh yeah, because people who drink alcohol are known for their rational and calm behavior.
Kramer: (intrigued) What kind of equipment are they getting with that grant money?
Elaine: (reading from her phone) Apparently, they’re getting an ID scanner, pelican cases, and flashlights. Sounds like they’re gearing up for some serious undercover operations.
Jerry: (jokingly) Maybe they’ll start busting people for underaged drinking at house parties or catching fake IDs at bars.
George: (suddenly nervous) What if they start cracking down on places that serve too much alcohol? I don’t want my favorite bar to shut down.
Elaine: Relax, George. I’m sure it’s just a way for them to keep the streets safe and prevent underage drinking. Nothing to worry about.
Jerry: (smirking) Well, I for one am looking forward to seeing how this grant money will be put to use. Maybe we’ll have some new material for our next comedy routine.
The group laughs as they continue to chat about the Eureka Police Department’s new grant and the potential impact it might have on the city’s nightlife.
FADE OUT.

… or, as an Elizabethan sonnet!

Upon the City Council’s grand agenda set,
A proposal for ADU and SB 9,
Inland Zoning Code, updated yet,
To bring alignment with State laws divine.
The recommendation stands to waive full read,
To adopt Bill No. 1049-C.S. with haste,
Consistency with State laws is the great need,
To ensure our zoning laws are properly placed.
No fiscal impact shall this update bring,
But rather, clarity for all to see,

Housing laws in harmony must be.
The City moves forward with clear intent,
To bring our regulations up to par, content.
