Title: The Haunting of Ramage Manor
[The gang is driving through the scenic Trinidad area, enjoying the coastal views and lush greenery. Suddenly, they come across a sign that reads “Ramage Manor - Beware of Ghosts!”]
Fred: Looks like we’ve got ourselves a mystery, gang! Let’s check out this Ramage Manor and see what’s going on.
[They drive up to the manor, a beautiful but eerie old house surrounded by trees. As they approach, they see Les and Amelia Ramage standing outside, looking worried.]
Shaggy: Like, what seems to be the problem, Mr. and Mrs. Ramage?
Les: Oh, thank goodness you’re here! Ever since we started the process of getting our subdivision approved, strange things have been happening. We’ve heard eerie noises at night and seen mysterious figures lurking around the property.
Velma: It sounds like this mystery is right up our alley. Let’s split up and investigate.
[The gang splits up to search the property. They eventually find a hidden entrance to a secret underground tunnel, where they discover a hidden room filled with old blueprints and documents related to the subdivision.]
Daphne: Looks like someone doesn’t want this subdivision to go through. But who would go through all this trouble?
[Suddenly, they hear a loud crash and see a shadowy figure running away. They chase after it and finally catch up to the culprit, who turns out to be Mario J Quiros, the agent for the Ramage Manor.]
Fred: Mr. Quiros, what are you doing here? Why are you trying to sabotage the Ramage subdivision?
Quiros: I…I was desperate. I needed the land for my own development project, and I thought if I could scare the Ramages away, I could take over the property.
Velma: That’s not the way to go about things, Mr. Quiros. You should have gone through the proper channels instead of resorting to sabotage.
[The police arrive and take Quiros into custody. The Ramages thank the gang for solving the mystery and ensuring their subdivision can go through as planned.]
Amelia: We can’t thank you enough for your help. We’ll make sure to recommend you to everyone in the Trinidad area.
Scooby: Reh-roh! Raggy-welcome!
[As they drive away from Ramage Manor, the gang reflects on another mystery solved and another adventure shared.]
Fred: Another case closed, gang. Who knows where our next mystery will take us?
Scooby: Roooby-Roo!

5. Gatlin Conditional Use Permit Assessor Parcel Numbers (APN) 221-171-022 Record No.
A request for a Conditional Use Permit for a commercial cannabis cultivation project in Humboldt County is being considered by the Planning Commission. The project involves growing cannabis in two different cultivation areas, sourcing water from permitted wells, and processing on-site. The project meets the requirements set forth by the County and other agencies, including environmental, water resource, and biological considerations. The project also complies with the County’s limits on permits and cultivation acreage in the planning watershed. The Planning Commission is recommended to approve the Conditional Use Permit with specific conditions.

… or, as an insane conspiracy theory!
The Gatlin Conditional Use Permit for commercial cannabis cultivation is actually a front for a covert operation run by a secret government agency. The 24,420 square feet of cultivation is being used to grow genetically modified cannabis plants that are capable of mind control. The estimated annual water usage of 295,800 gallons is actually being used to fuel a top-secret experimental machine that amplifies the mind control effects of the cannabis. The two permitted groundwater wells are actually entrances to an underground bunker where government agents monitor the effects of the mind control on unwitting test subjects. The fact that the project is not appealable to the California Coastal Commission is evidence of a high-level government cover-up. The geologic instability of the area is being exploited by the government to conceal the true nature of the operation. The Northern Spotted Owl and other sensitive species in the area are being used as unwitting test subjects in the government’s experiments. The entire project is a carefully orchestrated conspiracy to control the minds of the population and bend them to the will of the government. Only a select few know the truth, and they will stop at nothing to keep it hidden. Stay woke, sheeple.

6. Drewry Pit Surface Mining Permit Assessor Parcel Numbers (APN) 216-021-007 Record No.
The county is considering reapproving a permit for a mining operation in the New Harris area. The operation has been ongoing since 1993 and involves extracting rock for road maintenance projects. The permit would allow for up to 20,000 cubic yards of material per year over a 15-year period. The site has been previously mined and no major changes are proposed. The county must review and approve the permit, taking into consideration environmental impacts and compliance with regulations.

The room is filled with members of the Planning Commission, including the chairperson, as well as representatives from the Planning and Building Department. The applicant, Public Works County of Humboldt, sits confidently at the table, ready to present their case for approval of the Drewry Pit Surface Mining Permit.
As the meeting gets underway, Michael Kein, the Planner, stands up to address the Commission. He begins by outlining the details of the permit request, highlighting the history of the mining operation on Bell Springs Road and the proposed reapproval for the next 15 years.
Members of the Commission listen attentively, taking notes and occasionally asking questions for clarification. The discussion delves into the environmental impact of the mining operation, the reclamation plan, and the consultation with tribal groups to ensure the protection of cultural resources.
After Kein finishes his presentation, the chairperson opens the floor for questions from the Commission members. One member asks about the potential impact on wildlife in the area, while another inquires about any potential changes to the mining operation in the future.
The applicant, represented by a spokesperson from the Public Works County of Humboldt, confidently answers each question, providing detailed explanations and assurances that all necessary measures have been taken to mitigate environmental impacts and ensure compliance with regulations.
As the discussion continues, it becomes clear that the Planning Commission is impressed with the thoroughness of the application and the commitment to responsible mining practices. The chairperson thanks the applicant for their presentation and recommends moving forward with the approval process.
In the end, the Planning Commission votes unanimously to adopt the resolution approving the reapproval of the Drewry Pit Surface Mining Permit. The applicant nods in satisfaction, knowing that their hard work has paid off and that they can continue their mining operations with the necessary permits in place. The meeting adjourns, and the room empties as everyone prepares to move on to the next agenda item.

… or, as a conversation between two very stoned people named Starfish and Noodles!
Starfish: Hey man, have you ever thought about gravel mining on a river bar?
Noodles: Whoa, dude, that’s deep. Like, they’re gonna extract 28,000 cubic yards of gravel every three years, man.
Starfish: Yeah, and they’re doing it for county road maintenance activities in the region. Skimming is the preferred method of extraction, you know, to avoid disturbing nesting periods of the northern spotted owl and marbled murrelet.
Noodles: Woah, they’re so considerate to the wildlife, man. They even have a portable crusher assembly for crushing activities that avoid nesting periods.
Starfish: Yeah, and they gotta follow recommendations from CHERT and other regulatory agencies. They’re serious about this, man.
Noodles: Totally, dude. They even have conditions of approval and a reclamation plan for after the mining is done. It’s all about sustainability, man.
Starfish: It’s like, they’re making sure everything is in line with the General Plan and the community as a whole. It’s important to do things right, man.
Noodles: Yeah, and the project has been operating for so long with no issues. It’s all about keeping things running smoothly, man.
Starfish: Right on, dude. It’s all about balance and being responsible. We should take notes from this gravel mining operation, man.
Noodles: Totally, man. Let’s try to be as responsible as they are, you know?
Starfish: Definitely, man. Let’s be like the gravel miners, considerate and thoughtful.
Noodles: Right on, dude. Let’s make a plan and stick to it, just like they do.
Starfish and Noodles: (high five) Yeah!
