In Humboldt County, on the date so grand,
The Board of Supervisors had a plan.
They gathered for a meeting on the twentieth of May,
To discuss the county’s budget in every way.
File 24-901 was their guide,
As they looked at reports from every side.
From the Auditor-Controller to Public Works too,
Each department had their say, that’s true.
The County Administrative Office presented their view,
On how to close the budget deficit, they knew what to do.
With limited financial and staffing impact in sight,
They worked together to make things right.
The Clerk of the Board was tasked with a chore,
To post and publish the public hearing notice, for sure.
For the FY 2024-25 proposed budget to be heard,
With public participation, every voice was stirred.
So here’s to the County of Humboldt, so fair,
For working together with such care.
Let’s hope their efforts will soon pay off,
And their budget deficit won’t make them scoff.
So here’s to the meeting on that day so fine,
