. Approval of Cooperative Agreement No. 24-0195-000-SA in the Amount of $480 for the Weighmaster Program Contract

The Agricultural Commissioner is recommending the approval of a cooperative agreement with the California Department of Food and Agriculture for the Weighmaster Program Contract, totaling $480. This funding will support the enforcement of state-mandated programs in Humboldt County. The agreement also includes a waiver from the Nuclear Free Ordinance. Not approving the agreement could prevent the county from receiving reimbursement for the program.

… or, as a science-fiction story!

In the year 2024, the County of Humboldt was a bustling hub of activity, especially in the agricultural sector. The Agricultural Commissioner’s office was always busy, ensuring that all state-mandated programs were being enforced and followed by the local businesses. One such program was the Weighmaster Enforcement Program, which required regular inspections of junk dealers and recyclers licensed as weighmasters.

On July 2, 2024, a crucial meeting was scheduled for the Board of Supervisors to approve Cooperative Agreement No. 24-0195-000-SA in the amount of $480 for the Weighmaster Program Contract. The Agricultural Commissioner had recommended the approval of the agreement and the waiver from the provisions of the Nuclear Free Ordinance, as the State of California would not modify its cooperative agreements to accommodate local ordinances.

As the Board of Supervisors gathered for the meeting, little did they know that something extraordinary was about to happen. Just as the chair was about to sign the original agreement, a strange glow enveloped the room, and a group of aliens materialized before their eyes.

The aliens, who identified themselves as representatives from a highly advanced civilization, explained that they had been monitoring Earth for some time and were impressed by the dedication of the Agricultural Commissioner’s office in upholding the state-mandated programs. They offered to provide an additional $1,000,000 in funding for the Weighmaster Enforcement Program, as they were particularly interested in the recycling efforts on the planet.

The Board of Supervisors was initially shocked but soon realized the incredible opportunity that was being presented to them. They quickly amended the agreement to include the alien funding and unanimously approved the enhanced contract. The aliens, pleased with the cooperation, disappeared as suddenly as they had appeared, leaving the Board members in awe of the unexpected turn of events.

With the additional funding, the Weighmaster Enforcement Program in Humboldt County reached new heights of efficiency and effectiveness. The local businesses were able to expand their recycling efforts, and the agricultural sector flourished like never before. The County of Humboldt had inadvertently become a pioneer in intergalactic cooperation, thanks to the fortuitous encounter with the alien benefactors.

And so, as the meeting concluded and the Board of Supervisors reflected on the extraordinary events of that day, they knew that they had just ushered in a new era of progress and prosperity for Humboldt County, all thanks to a simple agreement for the Weighmaster Program Contract.
