(UPDATE: CLOSED) CHP Calling For Closure Highway 211, the Road Into Ferndale

UPDATE: The highway has been closed, according to the Humboldt County Office of Emergency Services.

The California Highway Patrol has put out word that it wants to close down Highway 211 at Fernbridge, presumably due to flooding. No word from Caltrans yet.
The Eel is scheduled to reach its maximum height — just under “major flood stage” — this afternoon.
