(VIDEO) Grass Fire Possibly Sparked By Boat-Towing Vehicle Burning on Highway 101 Near Myers Flat

UPDATE, 2:58 p.m.:
Calfire is on scene and reports that the blaze is half and acre to three quarters of an acre in size. The second southbound lane of Highway 101 will reportedly be closed for 3 to 4 hours in the area.

A grass fire is currently spreading along Highway 101 on the north end of of Myers Flat.
According to the CHP incident report, a vehicle towing a boat lost a tire in the area, which possibly sparked the fire.
A video of the scene sent to us by a reader shows flames crawling up the hillside along the highway.
We will update as more information comes in.
