Major-Injury Crash on Highway 101 Yesterday Near Trees of Mystery

At least one person sustained major injuries in a crash on Highway 101 yesterday evening about a mile north of Trees of Mystery.

Based on the information in the California Highway Patrol incident report, a sedan left the roadway at about 5:38 p.m. and traveled 120 feet down a steep embankment near Wilson Creek Road.

A child was initially reported to be trapped in a vehicle as a result of the crash, but it’s unclear if the child suffered any serious injuries.

Traffic was briefly impacted while a tow truck recovered the car from the embankment.
