Traffic Collision, No Injuries at 7600 Highway 101 N Men 76.00
Press release from CHP 4:06 p.m:
On September 28, 2019, at approximately 0730 hours, Qingkuan Yang was driving his 2013 Freightliner Tractor, which was pulling a semi-trailer loaded with a shipping container, northbound on US-101, near milepost marker 75.82 at a speed of approximately 45 MPH. For reasons still under investigation, Yang made an unsafe turning movement while negotiating a left handed curve in the roadway. The turning movement caused the trailer to overturn completely to the right. As a result, the tractor was also overturned and it, as well as the trailer, slid north on their right sides, until they came to rest within the northbound traffic lane, facing north.
The northbound traffic lane was blocked during the recovery. Cal Trans and Cal Fire maintained one-way traffic control. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this collision and it remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
Personnel from Cal Fire, the Laytonville Fire Department and Cal Trans assisted at the scene.
