(UPDATE) Highway 299 Completely Shut Down Near Big French Creek Road Due to Slide
UPDATE, 8:10 p.m.:
Highway 299 has been reopened to one-way traffic control.

All lanes of Highway 299 have been closed near Big French Creek Road in Trinity County so crews can clean up a rock slide in the area.
According to the California Highway Patrol incident report, the slide was first reported at 4:08 p.m. and now Caltrans is actively removing debris from the roadway.
There is no estimated time for when the road will be reopened.
