Two-Acre Brushfire Affecting Highway 101 Traffic North of Redway

Firefighters are currently handling a two-acre brushfire burning along Highway 101 north of Dean Creek Road near Redway.
According to the California Highway Patrol incident report, at least one lane of the highway has been shut down per the firefighters’ request and traffic is being diverted in the area.
The fire was reported at approximately 3:47 p.m. and may have been started by a vehicle with a dragging chain, per one witness.
