Forklift Overturns on Alderpoint Road, Spilling 50 Gallons of Diesel Fuel
A flatbed trailer and forklift detached from a pickup truck on Alderpoint Road in Garberville yesterday afternoon, spilling roughly 50 gallons of diesel fuel onto the the roadway, the California Highway Patrol reports.
The roadway was reduced to one-way-traffic control for approximately five hours while crews cleared the scene.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the rollover is still under investigation.

May 11, 2020 at approximately 1:20 p.m., Joshua Young was driving a Ford F650 towing a forklift on a flat bed trailer eastbound on Alderpoint Road east of Dyerville Loop Road.
For reasons still under investigation, the trailer detached from the truck and both the trailer and the forklift overturned into the westbound lane. As a result, diesel fuel spilled onto the roadway and west shoulder.
One-way controlled traffic was in place for approximately 5 hours for clean up. Personnel from the California Highway Patrol, Garberville Area, County Roads, Cal-Fire, Alderpoint Fire, Paloverde Fire, Garberville Fire, and The Humboldt County Health and Human Services Agency responded to the scene.
This incident is being investigated by the California Highway Patrol, Garberville Area. Alcohol and/or drug impairment does not appear to be a factor in the collision.
