Fatal Crash on Highway 299 East of Burnt Ranch
At least on person has been killed in a car crash along Highway 299 that was reported this morning east of Burnt Ranch near Ironside Mountain in Trinity County.
According to the California Highway Patrol Incident report, one vehicle was found upside down in the Trinity River at approximately 10 a.m.
A firefighter responding to the scene reportedly found one victim with fatal injuries, but was unable to determine if any passengers were inside the vehicle at the time of the crash.
One-way traffic control will reportedly be set up in the area for at least another half hour while crews recover the vehicle form the river.
