COVID REPORT: Only Three New Cases Confirmed Today, Joint Information Center Says

Press release from the Humboldt County Joint Information Center:

Three new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Humboldt County today, bringing the total number of county residents who have tested positive for the virus to 3,476.

The Joint Information Center will be closed Wednesday, March 31, in observance of César Chávez Day. The office will reopen Thursday, April 1, for regular operating hours — 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The holiday does not impact Public Health’s scheduled vaccine clinics or no-cost COVID-19 testing through OptumServe.

The California Department of Public Health today updated county tier assignments under the “Blueprint for a Safer Economy.” Humboldt County remains in the “Red” or Substantial tier with an adjusted case rate of 4.5 per 100,000 residents and a positivity rate of 2.2%.
