Press release from the Humboldt County Joint Information Center:

A total of 4,186 Humboldt County residents have tested positive for COVID-19 after 20 new cases were reported today.  

Public Health has 13,586 doses of COVID-19 vaccine in its inventory and will not request any additional doses from the state for next week. That number does not include doses allocated directly to providers or through the federal pharmacy partnership program. 

Local vaccination data has been updated on the Humboldt County Data Dashboard. Some highlights include:

• A total of 110,651 vaccine doses have been administered by Public Health and other approved local vaccinators.
• 38.2% of the county’s total population is fully vaccinated, and 46.8% has received at least one dose, meaning they have some protection against the virus.
• About 74%, or nearly 3 in 4, county residents over the age of 65 are fully vaccinated. 

COVID-19 vaccine is widely available through mass-vaccination clinics organized by Public Health and through local pharmacies and health care providers.  

Public Health will hold three Pfizer first-dose clinics for county residents age 12 and older. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, who must provide written consent for vaccination in person. 

These three Pfizer clinics will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. at College of the Redwoods located at 7351 Tompkins Hill Road in Eureka. Appointments are encouraged but not required. Sign up in advance at MyTurn.ca.gov, and see the schedule of Public Health clinics below.

Some pharmacies have reported an abundance of doses on hand, including the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine. To check availability of all three vaccines at local pharmacies, go to vaccines.gov. Residents can also text their ZIP code to 438829 or call 800-232-0233 to locate a participating pharmacy nearby.
