Campaign reports more than 3,300 doors knocked, extensive direct voter engagement, and published action plans addressing homelessness, economic development, tourism, and infrastructure
EUREKA, CALIFORNIA - Eureka mayoral candidate Anil Dwivedi will host his fifth and final Community Town Hall before the November 3 election on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 5:00 PM, at 335 E Street in Eureka.
According to campaign records, Dwivedi has personally knocked on more than 3,300 doors across Eureka and organized five public town halls, including the upcoming event, providing opportunities for residents to question him directly about his qualifications, proposals, business record, and vision for the city.
The campaign describes these efforts as part of its commitment to public accessibility and accountability.
PUBLIC QUESTIONS AND DIRECT ENGAGEMENT
Dwivedi has also participated extensively in the Lost Coast Outpost’s LoCO Elections forum, responding to questions about city policies, housing, homelessness, business development, public safety, and other community concerns.
The campaign reports that Dwivedi has answered all 24 questions through the platform, compared with 12 answered by incumbent Mayor Kim Bergel and seven by candidate Casey Dresser. These figures are subject to the platform’s latest published totals.
Beyond the LoCO forum, Dwivedi personally engages with residents through Facebook and other social media channels, including responding to criticism and difficult questions about his record.
The campaign also states that Dwivedi has publicly invited both opponents to participate in a moderated public debate, an invitation that has not resulted in an agreed debate.
PUBLISHED PLANS AND MEASURABLE GOALS
Dwivedi’s campaign has released a First 100 Days action plan and proposals addressing several of Eureka’s challenges.
His homelessness strategy establishes a goal of achieving a significant, measurable reduction in street homelessness within 12 months through coordinated outreach, assessments, temporary shelter options, treatment and recovery services, housing pathways, and employment opportunities.
Additional proposals address strengthening Eureka’s economy, supporting existing small businesses, attracting employers, expanding tourism, revitalizing Downtown and Old Town, exploring new opportunities for Bayshore Mall, improving infrastructure, and increasing transparency in city spending.
FINAL OPPORTUNITY FOR AN OPEN COMMUNITY CONVERSATION
The October 17 town hall will provide another opportunity for residents to discuss these proposals directly with Dwivedi.
The event will be open to everyone, including residents who disagree with the candidate or wish to raise concerns about his plans and record.
Attendees may ask questions about homelessness, public safety, city finances, housing, business development, tourism, infrastructure, and other issues affecting Eureka.
