Art and Diversity are Important

I am compelled to provide this statement. In a position of leadership silence is inappropriate. 

I want to express my respect for the contributions to this community provided by the Ink People. They have a collection of programs that support the development of local artists and enrich the experience in our community. 

Art is not just a product, but an expression of the artist. Freedom of expression is one of the values that I hold dear. 

To follow this thread, I want the LBGTQIA+ community to know that you are valued, equal members of our community. The courage it takes to express yourselves authentically is to me, a cardinal expression of patriotism. This nation is as much yours as it is anyone’s. Please continue adding color to our lives.
