I want to join the Humboldt Community Services District (HSCD) Board to ensure that unincorporated Eureka has clean water, well run services, and plans for climate change. HCSD serves approximately 7400 residential and 300 business customers. An adequate supply of water is essential to the health and safety of the unincorporated communities HCSD serves. My degree in Environmental Planning gives me a science and policy foundation to inform research and decision making that will prioritize safe, efficient water and sewer systems. I will plan and make decisions to adapt to climate change, prepare for emergencies, and ensure safe  water service for future generations. Additionally, I would like to have community dialogue and input regarding other essential services that the HCSD might provide to current constituents such as watershed preservation and  parks and recreation opportunities. I have served the Humboldt community both in my career and through many volunteer endeavors which has given me a deep connection and appreciation of the people and place we call home and it is a gift to be able to serve.
