Dolores Huerta and Her Foundation Endorses Blase Bonpane

Dolores Huerta and her foundation entrusted Blase Bonpane’s campaign for Arcata City Council with their endorsement because of Blase’s lifetime of work for social and environmental justice. His work organizing with unions, students environmental restoration and peace and justice organizations and because of his teaching of decolonizing movements around the world in classrooms from kindergarten through colleges ands universities (including Cal Poly, UC Berkeley and College of the Redwoods).

The mission of Dolores Huerta Foundation is “to cultivate empowered volunteer organizations actively pursuing social justice.”

“Our grassroots organizing efforts in Civic Engagement, Education Equity, Health, and Safety, and LGBTQIA+ Equality aim to amplify the voices of those most directly affected by inequity, recognizing their inherent knowledge and capacity to implement community-driven solutions when equipped with the necessary tools, training, and resources.”
