More Endorsements for Kamada

From Adrian Kamada/April 15, 2022, 1:05 a.m.

Adrian Kamada has received endorsements from the Times-Standard editorial board and the Humboldt & Del Norte Counties Central Labor Council to be the next Humboldt County District Attorney.  In their Sunday, April 10 edition the Times-Standard editorial board wrote, in part:

“In the race to be the next Humboldt County District Attorney, we believe there is a clear leader: Adrian Kamada, who serves as a deputy public defender.”

“Kamada explained that he will let residents know the results of major cases, win or lose, through news releases. That differs from the current system under Fleming, in which the DA’s office typically only releases information on cases won. As residents of the county, we should know the outcomes of cases involving heinous crimes and why those decisions were made”.

Regarding the still open and very high-profile case of the murder of David Josiah Lawson they wrote:

“Eads said the investigation early in the case should have been more thorough, a fact nobody disputes. But Kamada said he wanted to independently review the case “to see where it’s at and if it’s prosecutable.” He also felt strongly that the DA should take the lead on the case, a point we agree is critical.”

The Humboldt & Del Norte Counties Central Labor Council is one of almost 500 state & local labor councils of the AFL-CIO.  They represent 20 unions and over 5,000 workers and their families in Humboldt County.  Unions are the backbone of creating and keeping good, living wage jobs in our area.  They mobilize their members and community partners to advocate for social and economic justice for all.

Adrian is honored by the trust shown in him by the Times-Standard and the Labor Council.  “Seeing so many groups and individuals supporting my campaign has been inspiring to me.  They have realized that we need new ideas, full transparency, and strong leadership in the District Attorney’s office.  I will do my very best to live up to the faith they have shown in me.”

These endorsements come on top of last week’s announcements of support from The Humboldt County Democratic Central Committee and The Redwood Coalition for Climate and Environmental Responsibility.
