Do you support local artists? If so, will you commit to stopping the use of AI in your campaign materials?

Yes, I absolutely support local artists. I value the creativity and talent that local artists bring to our community, and I believe they are an important part of what makes Eureka and Humboldt County special. I currently have a local artist assisting with my campaign, and I’m grateful to have their talent and perspective involved.

I also think it’s important to recognize that art can take many forms, and that many artists have incorporated new technologies into their creative work. There are artists who intentionally use AI as part of their creative practice, such as Refik Anadol, Mario Klingemann, and Sougwen Chung to name just a few.

I don’t plan to completely eliminate AI from my campaign materials. I believe there is room for both new technology and local artists, and I think we should embrace creative expression in all its forms.
