No. I believe voting is critical to a healthy community, every voice is important. I often share that with the students and other folks I work with. My experience in my first election to City Council I won by 46 votes. I absolutely understand each vote matters.

No. I have not skipped voting in an election since becoming eligible to vote.

For much of the last 10 years, I was not eligible to vote because I was not yet a U.S. citizen. Since becoming eligible, I have taken that right and responsibility seriously and have voted.

Becoming an American citizen made the right to vote especially meaningful to me. I know what it is like to live here, contribute to my community, and still have to wait for the day when I could finally have a voice at the ballot box.

I did not take that right for granted when I received it, and I never will.
