Millions in Funding

You plan to end sanctuary status to get us out of this hole.. HOW would you go about that to return millions back to our city?

I believe in following the law of the land, protecting public safety, and ensuring Eureka receives every dollar of funding it is legally entitled to. However, I want to be very clear I will not promise millions of dollars without first identifying exactly which funds have been lost, why they were lost, and what legally needs to happen to recover them.

My first step would be to review Eureka’s existing policies, applicable federal and state laws, and all relevant funding agreements. I would work with the City Attorney, City Manager, and appropriate agencies to determine whether any policies are creating legal conflicts or jeopardizing funding.

If we identify a problem, I would pursue lawful solutions that protect both our residents and the city’s financial interests. My responsibility as Mayor would be to make decisions based on verified facts, not assumptions.

Eureka deserves transparency, accountability, and leadership that can explain where every dollar comes from and how it is spent.
