Re: Johnsons IC: CalFire Strike Team 9253-C (5 “wildland” engines plus a chief officer) apparently from Tehama-Glenn counties now arriving in Humboldt Co, will be staging in Eureka area tonight and go into the Johnsons incident at daybreak.

Re: Panther, no ground units yet on scene, Air Attack 110 overhead and requesting three additional air tankers [good luck with that] and one add’l helicopter. Fire is in heavy timber with some torching, slow rate of spread downslope but will prob increase spread after it gets to bottom of drainage.

Dozers from CalFire and Iaqua Construction (a CalFire contractor) canceled from the Panther fire, returning to Fortuna. Air Tanker 90 is over the scene, reports that fire is backing downhill and he has permission to drop on the fire.

To get to the fire: Take Mattole Road to Panther Gap, go two to three miles on Panther Gap, then take the Y to the right.

The latest of the seemingly dozens of small fires reported today just came through. It’s out in Honeydew, somewhere in the vicinity of Bull Creek and/or Panther Gap Road. Calfire scrambling resources to check it out.
