Humboldt Bay Firefighters are investigating the scene of a reported man trapped under a tree at the intersection of Highland Ave. and Iowa St. near Fort Humboldt. A reporting party told dispatch that two bystanders can be heard saying that someone is trapped under a tree in the brush. First responders report hearing someone moving in the brush.

Arcata: 3rd hand report of person at MRCH Emergency Room fighting with the staff, unit responding Code 3 while dispatcher calls the ER to verify it….. Staff advises dispatch that the subj has calmed down and is now in the hallway; units reducing to Code 2 (no siren/lights) and continuing.

Another citizen reports to an officer that the guy they were chasing has changed into a pink jacket and was running up toward Ft Humboldt with a female. Possibly running north thru Ft Humboldt then back toward Broadway. Multiple reports coming in to ofcrs, it’s on the scanner feed. I’m outa here.

EPD ofcrs in foot pursuit of subj (didn’t hear what he’s wanted for), from rear of Big 5 into the greenbelt; male wearing black hat, blk/wht plaid jacket, jeans and wht shoes; lost him briefly possibly west of Sears, then he was seen again in the North 40. Per radio message the guy is a possible 459 (burglary) suspect…. Several phone calls coming into 9-1-1 giving differing possible locations where the susp is now. [this STI entry covers about an 8 minute time span].

Snake bite patient’s vitals remain in normal limits and he is asymptomatic. His parents are declining any further treatment AMA per E1271, canceling all incoming units including the ambulance.

CalFire crew with the victim, a 3-1/2yr old male, snake bite to his arm; so far all his vital signs are within normal limits. Unable to determine yet the species of the snake that bit him.
