Police were able to talk the man out, it seems. He’s been detained, and he’s en route to the hospital in an ambulance.

The south Eureka mud man continues to elude police detention. He’s about 10 years offshore and has waddled his way down to about 300 yards south of Truesdale. The Coast Guard is being notified.

Now it appears that the mud patient has jumped back into the water and is fleeing from police.

The mud person is shouting obscenities, according to scanner traffic. He appears to be having a mental health breakdown. Police also en route.

The mud the person is stuck in 100 yards offshore. It’s actually a bit south of the Palco Marsh proper, and closer to the Bayshore Mall.

Police are shutting down the southbound lanes on Alliance. Traffic is being diverted at Foster Avenue.
