HCSO very briefly detained an individual in the forest but he was found to not be involved. Units are still searching the forest. APD, CHP, HCSO and University PD are on scene. Fickle Hill is partially blocked by patrol vehicles. The details surrounding the initial scene on Greenwood Heights Drive are unclear at the moment, but one individual was confirmed to be deceased

The vehicle in the pursuit was reportedly involved or taken in a possible assault on Greenwood Heights. Fire personnel arrived at the scene on Greenwood Heights and confirmed that there was a deceased individual. HCSO and APD are still searching the community forest off Fickle Hill for the suspect who fled on foot. CHP and Cal Poly Humboldt University Police have been notified

Arcata Vehicle Pursuit: HCSO in pursuit of a silver van now Northbound HW 101 from Bayside. The vehicle may have been involved in an assault. An HCSO deputy spotted the vehicle on Myrtle at Quail Valley Rd. while he was responding code 3 to the assault. Speeds 100 MPH
