Remember that deal we told you about a couple of months ago, wherein a Western-themed cable channel that rose from the ashes of Jim & Tammy Faye’s PTL Network made a bid for Humboldt County stalwart of the airwaves News Channel 3 and its sister station, KVIQ?

Today comes news that that deal has gone down, over the objections of many — including Rep. Jared Huffman, who was very vocal in his desire to have this not happen.

Gah! The great Jesse Wiedel had a show at Synapsis on Union Street on Saturday night, and here comes word via Synapsis Facebook that thieves made off with one of his paintings.

See the painting below in the last 36 hours? It is stolen. Encourage your friends to do the right thing and give it back. “No questions asked,” Synapsis says.
