First unit at scene of the Village incident on HW 96 north of Weitchpec reports that it is an approximately 1/4 acre spot with slow rate of spread, requesting Cal Fire continue and cancel the balance

Weitchpec Vegetation Fires (x2): Cal Fire Fortuna has dispatched 2 vegetation fires in the Weitchpec area. The first fire was reported around 6 pm around Johnsons on HW 169. This fire is being called the “Jack” incident. The second fire, which was just dispatched, is reported to be on HW 96 around mile marker 24 just north of Weitchpec. This will be called the “Village” incident. Multiple fire departments are responding and no resources are on scene at either incident at this time
