It’s smoky down in Ferndale and environs this afternoon!
And that’s because Calfire is conducting a controlled burn in the Table Bluff area. They’re taking out about 12 acres of invasive beach grass, which apparently throws up a fine plume.
No emergency!
Going Down @ 4:19 p.m.
They’re making things all secure-like down at Halvorsen Park. We’re only a few days away from native daughter Sara Bareilles’ much-anticipated homecoming concert and the fences have started going up around the event space.
Have you got your tickets to get past those fences? More importantly, do you have too many tickets? ‘Cuz other people would like to see Sara! If you were one of the lucky few who secured entry in the initial crush and you’ve either decided you can’t go or you were more ambitious on the number of friends you have, remember that you can return your tix so they can be redistributed to those on the waiting list.
If you’re curious on the logistics of how this is all going to work, the City of Eureka lays it all out here. See you Sunday!
Going Down @ 2:38 p.m.
