#Update #Bayside HCSO SWAT is responding to a barricaded subject situation on Plunkett Road. Residents in the vicinity of Plunkett are asked to stay inside while law enforcement works. Jacoby Creek Road remains open, but please yield to emergency traffic.

Trinidad Traffic Collision w/ Extrication: Cal Fire Engine 1274 is on scene on Highway 101 in the area of mile marker 100 near the Main St. offramp reporting 4 vehicles involved, multiple patients with one confirmed 11-44 (deceased). Engine 1274 is assuming “Baker IC”, initiating triage and requesting a total of three code 3 ambulances. Resources from Arcata, Westhaven and Fieldbrook Fire Departments are also now on scene. Northbound 101 is blocked.

Arguably the biggest cultural event to happen in Eureka in memory will occur in less than a month on Oct. 16 when native daughter Sara Bareilles returns to her hometown for a show at Halvorsen Park. The City of Eureka is thinking that at least some of the thousands who gather that day may get hungry, so they’re putting out the call for local food truck operators to rally for the cause.
