HCSO has the suspect in custody on Bazemore after deploying a taser. Fire resources that evacuated and staged away from the fire are reengaging in a defensive mode. An ambulance has been requested for the suspect for taser barb removal.

The armed suspect is reportedly still acting erratically. All firefighters are accounted for and they are attempting to back all of the fire engines away from the fire scene. PG&E has been requested for multiple downed power lines in the area.

Trinidad Structure Fire Update: A suspect armed with a knife is reportedly chasing and threatening to kill firefighters on scene. An emergency request for law enforcement was made and all fire resources are evacuating the scene. HCSO is responding code 3. Engine 1264 reports that they are attempting to cool the fully involved residence from a distance to prevent the fire from overtaking the fire engine.

Trinidad Structure Fire: 200 block of Bazemore Lane off of Patricks Point Drive for a fully involved residential structure; For Cal Fire Engine 1264, Battalion 1216, Arcata Fire all call, Westhaven Fire, Orick Fire Water Tender and Fieldbrook Fire Water Tender; Engine 1264 is at scene with a confirmed fully involved residence. They are assuming “Drift” IC. Fieldbrook is advising that they are unable to staff their water tender. Blue Lake Fire’s water tender is being added in their place. Unknown if there are any occupants.
