Orick Traffic Collision Update on Conditions: Three patients are being transported by helicopter on REACH 5, REACH 19 and CHP H-16. One patient is being transported by ground ambulance. (Correction on my previous, REACH 19 is out of Brookings not Ukiah)

Orick Traffic Collision w/ Extrication: Highway 101 at mile marker 125 north of Orick for a head on collision between a semi truck and a passenger vehicle which occurred shortly after 8:00. There are reportedly 5 patients with some unresponsive and trapped in the vehicle. Fire is on scene. Two ground ambulances are responding along with air ambulance helicopters REACH 5 from Redding and REACH 19 out of Ukiah Brookings. A CHP helicopter is also responding from Redding. CHP received a report that the collision was possibly caused by a female acting erratically and jumping into traffic. She is reportedly still in the area north of the scene “playing with cones”. Highway 101 is completely blocked.
