[Comment: As of 4:00 a.m. there is still no power to McKinleyville east of Central at all, as well as north of Murray Rd east of Hwy 101. Actually both sides of Central and both sides of Murray Road are dark. No customers’ lights, no street lights, no traffic signals, no nothing since midnight. Only places with lights are the airport and occasional buildings with their own back-up power. PG&E are out and about, but they definitely have their work cut out for them].

McKinleyville: AFPD Engine 8217 in service, doing a “windshield survey” of the district. [Comment: This is a drive-through on all streets looking for - and reporting - any significant threats such as lines down, damage to homes or other structures that may not have been called in. In general during a windshield survey, most agencies have a policy of not performing ANY non-emergency action, but rather getting an overall view of the entire district so command officers can prioritize what should be addressed and in what order.]

And wind here in McK has just picked up dramatically, so I expect power to be out for quite a while.
