Going Down @ 3:17 p.m.

Welcome to the first installment of ADVENTURES in NEXTDOOR, where we take a peek at what’s going on over at Humboldt County’s favorite neighborhood-based social networking app.

Roosters! If you’re not a rooster-fancier, they sure can be loud and annoying! Especially when someone has ‘em right in the middle of town! But say you’ve gotten sick of your rooster. What to do with it?

One user has a helpful suggestion: Take it to the dump!

Another user reached out to check if this was, in fact, true — if Recology was operating a disposed-rooster sanctuary at their Fortuna location. That person discovered that, alas, some things are too good to be true. They posted their text message exchange with Recology:

That should settle it. Don’t drop your rooster off at the dump, please.

Going Down @ 10:47 a.m.

Remember “movies”? Remember going to a big auditorium in your town to see a new “movie”?

Want to relive that experience on the cheap?

Well, good news: Coming Attractions Theatres sends word that they will be participating in National Cinema Day this Saturday. That means that all movies at the Broadway and Mill Creek Cinemas will be only $3, all day long. And addition to that: Exclusive previews and promotions galore are promised.

Get hype! Here’s the trailer for National Cinema Day.
