Sewage Incident in Fairhaven

A new hazardous materials incident involving sewage has been reported to the California Office of Emergency Services.

According to a report published by the office, the incident took place at or near beach / side of road in Fairhaven at around 8 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 14.

About 80 gallons of sewage were released to the environment, according to the person who called in the report.

Here’s the description of the incident that was recorded by the Office of Emergency Services:

RP states: RV campers are releasing sewage onto the beach bi monthly . Campers are also throwing trash on the beach. The release of the sewage has been ongoing. It is unknown who will perform clean up.

This was the 1st hazardous materials incident recorded by the Office of Emergency Services in the Fairhaven area this year and the 1st sewage spill in the county overall.
